Wellness Information

Disruptions in routines can be stressful for everyone. Developing a positive routine will help maintain a sense of structure and stability. As a family, it's good to set up a weekday schedule that works for everyone. Click here to view some tips for setting up a regular schedule.

Staying active will also help support continued learning. Getting a daily dose of fresh air and exercise has been proven to increase your energy, improve your mood, enhance your immune system, help you sleep and stimulate brain growth among many other benefits. We also suggest to continue socializing while following social distancing guidelines. The combination of staying active and maintaining relationships will further support your learning and overall well being.

Take care of yourself, not just for your well-being, but also for those you live with. This will help improve your energy, focus, response to stress and overall life experience. You are also modelling wellness strategies for those around you. We have porvided a few simple suggestions below:
  • Take time to eat and drink water
  • Stay active to increase energy, boast immunity, reduce insomnia and feel positive
  • Get enough sleep (7-9 hrs per night)
  • Stay connected, supportive relationships are a powerful influence on our sense of wellness.
  • Take time for yourself during the day
  • Be mindful of your thoughts and feelings, both positive and negative – focus on what is meaningful
  • Treat yourself with compassion and gentleness
