The Mechanized Forest Equipment Operator course is certificate course where students earn both an NBCC certificate and high school credits. The course is designed to prepare students for accelerated entry into the NBCC Mechanized Forest Equipment Operators course. The equipment used in the forestry industry is unique and highly technical. The specialized nature of forestry harvesting and the equipment requires skilled operators. This course uses simulators to help students gain the skills they need to become skilled equipment operators. Students will also learn about the overall forestry industry and alternative career pathways. Emphasis is placed on safety, environmental sustainability and hands on training..
