The Intro to Aviation & Aerospace course is designed to offer students the opportunity to explore the theory, skills and careers involved in the aviation and aerospace industries. The course is structured as 50% aviation and flight theory combined with 50% hands on experiential learning. Students will also spend time developing the skills to fly both airplanes and drones and understanding the various licensing requirements and career opportunities as a drone operator.
Students will develop their flying skills through virtual simulator training and coaching from a licensed Commercial Pilot. With a focus on experiential learning our goal is to offer all students the opportunity to experience flight time in a real airplane through a partnership with The Miramichi Airport, NB Aviation Museum and the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association.
This course will take place at The Miramichi Airport in the NB Aviation Museum Hangar, as pictured below on the right.
