The Early Childhood Education course is hands on experiential learning course where students will explore the rewarding career of Early Childhood Education. Students will focus on careers within Early Childhood Education Centres however there will also be opportunities to explore the careers withing our local Elementary Schools. 

​Early Childhood Educators are focused on developing holistic education programs. You'll learn to design and facilitate children’s activities while encouraging interpersonal behaviour and inclusivity. Early Childhood Education is about helping children learn through play, but it's also about embodying effective communication skills, friendliness, sensitivity, and other compassionate qualities.

The course will be structured as follows:

• 90 hours of field experience (Chatam Daycare, Kindertots Daycare, Local Elementary Schools)
• 90 hours of instruction (At NBCC Miramichi Campus)

* Students who successfully complete the 90 hours of instruction content will receive a provincial certificate in Early Childhood Education, which is required to work in any Childcare facility in the province.

NBCC College Credits
Students who successfully complete the course will receive a provincial certificate in Early Childhood Education.
